Read our top tips for what makes a winning Aspire Awards entry.
1. Read the criteria carefully
Ensure you demonstrate how you/your business has achieved outstanding success in the specific areas outlined.
2. Detail your objectives and the outcomes achieved
A winning entry will detail the objectives set out at the start of the entry and at the end show what has been achieved. Judges are looking for bespoke examples and data to display growth and how you stand out.
3. Personalise your entry
There are many industry awards out there and it may be tempting to alter and reuse an entry when applying for another. If you do this, ensure you personalise it to the Aspire Awards as judges always notice repeat entries.
4. Be bold and confident
If you’re considering entering then you are already aware you have an amazing business, be proud of your achievements, be bold in explaining your ambitions and be confident in your model.
5. Tell an engaging story
Judges want to see a personal and memorable submission which shows passion.
6. Use data to show results
If you can show clear growth or improvements in business through data, please share it. Judges love to see numbers to back up claims being made. Proof matters!
7. Use examples and case studies
Don’t make a claim without supporting evidence. Case studies can bring your entry to life.
8. Use of AI
In recent years it has become more obvious who is writing their own submissions and who is using AI. Those who use AI score badly as a result for not allowing their own personalities to shine. Submissions should remain authentic, personal, and reflective of your own experiences, achievements, and voice.
9. Complete the video element
We know it’s awkward, but in past years people and companies have transformed a judge's opinion simply by speaking to camera. Those who don’t complete this part look as if they don’t care enough about the process.
10. Be concise
Videos that go over the two minutes will be cut off and the outstanding time will not be shown to judges.
11. Re-read your submission
Check for spelling and typos. Small errors can leave a big impression.
12. Get feedback
Ask others to read your entry carefully to spot any mistakes.
13. Meet the deadline
Entries close on Wednesday, July 15 at 5pm.
